There is beginner's protection in Travian, which means that you are under special protection during a period between 3 and 14 days (3 on speed servers) depending on the time between start of the world to the activation of your account.

The length of your beginner's protection is stated in an automatic message you get from support when activating.

Below you can find some interesting facts about the beginner's protection:

• No troops can be sent to a player who is still under beginners protection (this includes any type of troop movements: scouting, reinforcements, attack/raid).
• A player can not send troops to other players when in beginners protection (this includes any type of troop movements: scouting, reinforcements, attack/raid).
• It is not possible to end the protection earlier.
• A player can attack/raid Natarian villages and unoccupied oases even when in beginners protection.
• A player has the possibility to extend his beginners protection once by 3 days. He will get a infobox message before his beginners protection expires with the possibility to extend it. Once the beginners protection ends, it cannot be regained.
• It's not possible to send resources while in beginners protection.
• It possible to receive resources from an account that is not in beginners protection anymore while in beginners protection.
• While in beginners protection it is not possible to accept trades which are worse than 1:1.
• However it is possible to put up marketplace offers that are worse than 1:1. No-one can accept them, but that can be used as extra room for resource storage.

 The beginner's protection lengths are as follows:

1x speed servers:
Beginners protection basic: minimum 5 days - maximum 14 days
Additional days on request: 3 days
Culture points granted at the beginning: 500 culture points

3x speed servers:
Beginners protection basic: 3 days
Additional days on request: 3 days
Culture points granted at the beginning: 167 culture points

The beginner protection basic value is extended based on the server age. The additional day on request amount however stays the same all round.
